Dimethaid Research Inc. is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes therapeutics designed for enhanced performance and minimal side effects. Its patented technology platforms include Immune Regulation—the basis for an intravenously infused compound that rebalances immune function—and Transcellular Drug Delivery, which relies on a chemical carrier to deliver medication through the skin, directly to the disease site, with minimal bloodstream absorption. Dimethaid's products aim to expand treatment options in oncology, immunology, rheumatology, and the therapeutic management of chronic viral infections. The Company's two lead products are WF10 and Pennsaid®. WF10 is an immune regulator that has been shown in pilot clinical trials to be an effective adjunct for cancer therapy and is undergoing Phase III clinical trials for use as adjunctive therapy for human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency virus (HIV/AIDS) patients. Pennsaid® is a commercialized treatment for osteoarthritis symptoms that employs a novel transcellular carrier and provides site-specific drug delivery. Pennsaid® is currently sold in Canada by Dimethaid and Solvay Pharma Inc. under a co-promotion agreement, and in several European countries, including the United Kingdom and Italy. The Company expects more Pennsaid® launches in Europe later this year. Additionally, the drug is awaiting clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the U.S. Dimethaid is also developing a second transcellular product, Penecure™, for the treatment of onychomycosis, a fungal nail disease.
