MIGENIX Inc. ("MIGENIX" or "the Company") is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development, and commercialization of products primarily in the area of infectious diseases. The Company is developing compounds from the post-discovery stage through to late-stage clinical development. MIGENIX's pipeline currently features a balanced portfolio, which contains several preclinical to Phase III product candidates to treat chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infections (Phase II and preclinical candidates); to prevent catheter-related infections (Phase III); to treat gram-positive bacterial infections (preclinical); and to treat acne (Phase II). In August 2004, MIGENIX acquired MitoKor, Inc., a San Diego-based private biotechnology firm, providing MIGENIX with several promising clinical and preclinical product candidates to treat major medical conditions related to mitochondrial dysfunction and further bolstering the Company's pipeline. Candidates are under evaluation for indications such as Friedreich's ataxia, retinitis pigmentosa (RP), arthritis, and others. MIGENIX is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) under the symbol MGI and the OTC under the symbol MGIFF. MIGENIX is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with U.S. operations in San Diego, California.
